Reinfried Marass

Reinfried Marass is an Austrian, professional photographer, born in Vienna in 1960. Marass graduated as a mechanical engineer. He started photography at the age of 18. Reinfried Marass' work was acknolwedged internationally at some of the world's most prestigious photographic contests. His work has been published in international magazines as covers, full pages, double spreads, centerfolds and as well as used for commercial and advertisement uses. He grew up in a small town in Austria called Neulengbach, where 'Egon Schiele' lived, worked and was prisoned for his erotic paintings and drawings. One of the basics in Marass' photographic work is image composition. The famous German 'Bauhaus' influenced the positioning and relationship of points, lines and many areas of Marass' photography. Marass uses 'Finonacci Harmonic Levels' for composition and also of combined crafts and fine arts operated from 1919 to 1933. Reinfried Marass' first contact with art was when 'Schiele Cell' was shown. Marass is famous and known for his exotic cars with a touch of classic in automotive photography. Female models are used to add a 'slice of life' story telling. Schiele's influence may be found in some of his photographs. And to add a touch of style and beauty, or simply erotic. Or to drive the viewer back in time. Marass' photos contain only of available light. He has never owned a flash or similar lighting equipment. Marass likes to work with minimal equipment, thus he can be fully concentrated on the 'Sujet'.
